Bad Networking: How to avoid it.



In looking for work or career opportunities, people can turn to their social ties in communities, or networks, for information or possibilities.

People can tap on family, schoolmates, friends or friends of friends for useful information or opportunities to work together on a project. 

Networking is using social skills with purpose towards a specific goal or objective.

Like any skill, there's a good way and a bad way to network... here are some pointers to make sure you make your networking successful for you, especially when you're looking for a job in BPO Philippines.

Always Good Vibes

Many of the long-term unemployed put out a negative attitude during meetings and interviews, which is not surprising when you've sent out several hundred applications and only scored one interview.

But this negative attitude can lead to bad behavior and desperation which can be uncomfortable to witness especially by recruiters and interviewers.

Letting your worries and concerns ruin your self-confidence by making you appear easily upset and stressed, is not a good way to convince a networking contact to help you or your goal/objective.

Whether you're communicating online, over the phone or face-to-face particularly, please keep your positive attitude, your professional smile and treat each network contact pleasantly without giving them cause to be concerned.

Be Internet-friendly

The Internet is fast and efficient, and if you learn how to utilize online message boards and social networks in a way that connects you with the people on a pleasantly personal manner, then most likely these social contacts will respond favorably to your needs.

Work towards a purpose by investing your time wisely with specialized networking sites to help you organize your professional contacts, reach out to new contacts and learn helpful hints to successful networking on the Internet.

Professionals joined these networking sites for similar reasons. They are looking to build professional relationships with others, so they are expecting to be contacted with good reason. It's essential and potentially valuable to make quality connections and new contacts.

It's not about You, or Me... it's about Us.

Networking is about forging strong professional and profitable relationships, and that means you must be willing to give as well as take.

Show curiosity about the professional activities of a contact, especially if he or she is much more accomplished.

Be willing to ask questions, listen and be truly interested in what the other person has to say. Think about different ways that you can help them.

You must be unselfish and be willing to reciprocate to create a mutually beneficial environment that's directed to success.

 It's better to let your networking contact be the one to say, "Enough about me. What about you...?"

Essentially, this give-and-return in social networking will allow both parties to reap rewards and have a professionally pleasant experience in  BPO Philippines.
