Working with Your Boss the Best Way
To ensure job satisfaction and success in the company, having a good working relationship with your supervisors and managers is important, particularly in the corporate hierarchy of BPO Philippines.
Here are some ways to start work in a good way with your supervisor.
Observe and Learn
During your first few weeks in the company, the important thing is to observe the company culture and your boss closely.
Until you understand the company culture well, best to keep a low profile and opinions are to be shared carefully, until you know what's acceptable and not acceptable for the people and the company, especially by your boss.
Something as simple as asking intelligent questions will make a difference in how your boss perceives you as an employee. It's always better to ask first and clarify details than take charge and go completely in the wrong direction.
Be a Professional
Strive to appear and behave professionally. Appearance is just as important as your skills set and attitude to work. When you observe your boss and company culture, take note on how they dress and behave.
Being new at the job, and if you want to remain in your job because you do enjoy it or need it, a little professional conformity can go a long way for you.
Part of the professional package is courtesy and pleasantness. If you're courteous and easy to work with, you'll rack up positive points not just with your officemates but also your boss.
Show Initiative
Any new, ordinary employee can sit around waiting to be told what to do.
Once you grasp the company culture and how your boss wants work to be done, engage in a little self-enterprise to figure out work matters yourself so your supervisor doesn't constantly have to hold your hand.
You should be busy whenever you're starting a new job, learning the ropes, but even when you're not, perfect the art of looking busy.
Take initiative to get something done when you see it needs getting done. It can be anything to show that you're not beneath the small tasks that take up everyone's time.
Do Great Work
When you're the new guy or girl at your workplace, one of the worst things you can do is make your new boss look bad for hiring you. Be diligent, come in to work earlier than your boss, and go home later than your boss.
By working hard and achieving good results, you're not only making yourself look capable but also making your boss look good by hiring you.
Making your boss look good by the good work you do is the surest way to develop a solid professional relationship that can reward you.
Keep your Boss Informed
Being the new guy, it's up to you to establish and maintain the lines of communication between you and your boss.
And it will be to your benefit in keeping your boss updated on what you're working on and what you've accomplished.
Use either e-mail, instant messenger or the occasional office visit, make sure your boss knows what are you working on, what have you finished, and the results and what other ways you can offer your skills and services to your boss.
Your efforts now will lay the groundwork for a productive working relationship with your boss, especially in BPO Philippines.
