Five Bad Job Alerts
When you’re looking for work, it’s advised you do research on the companies you want to be an employee of, no matter the industry or sector, even in BPO Philippines.
As employers do a background check on their future employees, it should be fair for job applicants to do a background check on the companies to make sure that they provide a stable work environment and good professional experiences.
Here are some important bad job alerts to watch out for.
High employee turnover
Does the company have a high rate of losing employees? This is a red flag for any potential worker. Research a company thoroughly and listen carefully during the hiring process.
Do interviewers keep referring to people who've left the company? These could be warning signs people are leaving the company for good reason, faster than replacements can be recruited.
Bad Company Status
Is the company featured in economic news that its stocks is losing valuee? Or has there been reports of this company doing a merger with another company? Both could indicate that employee layoffs are in the horizon and the position you accept today may not exist in a few months.
Do your due diligence gathering information about the company, speak and consult with industry experts, family and trusted friends. After gathering your data, calculate your risks.
Poor Salary
When money is a major factor, think more than twice before you consider applying for a company or accepting a job offer. Assess your finances. Revisit your career goals.
Look at the situation with a big-picture view of your future. Making a move for a modest increase may not be worth it if there's more long-term potential with your current employer.
All Work, No Life
At the start of anyone’s career, it is to be expected that sacrifices are to be made and one has to work hard almost to the point of burnout. If you're just beginning your career or starting a second one, this what lies ahead for the first few years.
But this doesn’t necessarily have to be so, and it’s important to have balance between work and life. And if one has to work hard, make sure that you receive proper compensation or other benefits.
A Bad Reputation
Going to work for a company with a bad reputation (bad products or bad services) can ruin your credibility/ resume.
Investigate any potential employer's standing within its industry. Get opinions from within your network or in the Internet forums to find out if this company has a good standing in the community, treats their employees well and performs good practices.
Choose carefully which company to work for. What you don't want in your professional record is the fact that you tend to hop from company to company, from job to job.
It's best to carefully weigh your options and fully commit to the challenges of working in corporate environments.
To the committed comes the guarantee of success in BPO Philippines.
