Be the Outstanding One out of Five!

Surveys report that 20 percent of job seekers who apply to a company in BPO Philippines get noticed in interviews and proceed through the screening process. Twenty percent!

1 out 5 applicants are considered for the job!
To get an advantage over the rest, you have to know how to promote yourself as part of your strategy to secure a job or get hired on the spot.

Here are some tips to make sure you make a good impression on your potential employer.

Check the company out. Know the company you're applying for. Research them online on their websites or search the Internet and social networks for forums where you can find postings from the company's current or former employees.

Is the Internet buzzing about the company in a positive light? Is the company stable, doing well, continuously progressing or expanding? Is your potential employer one that has a professional yet calm working environment that values employees and their needs? Or are you reading rants of bad bosses, hard hours? Is the company involved in building up the community, what's their corporate social responsibility?

Try to find out if the company is the workplace and brand you want to be associated with, more than just a means to get paid monthly, determine if the company is one you want to work with in the long term.

Find out who's who. Go to the company website to get to know your potential bosses. You can follow up by visiting business social networks, like LinkedIn, to learn more about them and anyone else at the company.

For many professionals local and abroad, LinkedIn has become the genuine standard for posting a professional profile online. Through LinkedIn, you may get to find useful information on your future colleagues like common professional or social interests that you may share and connect with. You might find out that you went to the same school with them or belong to the same neighborhood.

Know how you can help. Companies are essentially looking for assets in their hiring process. Assets that would be valuable for them in the long term. Research about the company and the industry it is in. Don't just know the company, know how you can help the company with the challenges it's currently facing and provide details on how you think you can provide assistance or value if given the opportunity.

Match your skills to their needs and promote your potential worth to them, if hired.

Prepare to do your best to stand out during the job interviews for the companies in BPO Philippines you're apply for, because if you don't someone else will and that person will get the job, not you.
