BPO Philippines evolves into KPO this 2012

Cebu's professionals such as architects, IT programmers, lawyers and medical practitioners need not go abroad to get jobs with high salaries.

These professionals can stay in the Philippines and take advantage of the career prospects offered by the booming knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) industry--the next level for BPO Philippines.


Different from the usual contact outsourcing services that involve concerns and complaints of customers, KPO is knowledge-based services involve high-value work carried out by skilled staff.

India is currently the major hub for KPO activity but the Philippines is seen as an emerging KPO service destination by Ovum, an international research firm.

Last November, Ovum reports that the Philippines is becoming an increasingly important player in the KPO market.

White-collar professionals in BPO Philippines have now a choice of opportunities with KPO, even start their own business virtually through Internet or cloud computing.

Experienced professionals can start a KPO business of their own by forming a group or organization that provides information, consultation, and other services via the cloud in data management, health services, finance, legal services, and human resources.

For example, unemployed nurses can have the alternative jobs of serving through a computer and a phone as there is a demand for nurses for KPO services because of the growing offshore medical services.

This way, nurses can stay home in the country and earn the same high salaries, and potentially with less work.

BPO Philippines has earned distinction worldwide for its quality human resources providing industry-specific services in a number of key areas, such as health care outsourcing to hospitals and health care providers.

Cebu's business process outsourcing (BPO) industry recognize KPO as the next level,  that can prove beneficial in face of the possible impact of the pending US bill on outsourcing.

Moving higher on the service value chain where knowledge and skills are present will help preserve employment and sustain the quality and worth of Cebu's BPO industry.

The KPO market will increase significantly in the next few years, with potential demand coming from the Americas and Europe as a result of the recent reforms in health care regulations.

Cebu has started taking advantage of the opportunities provided by KPO, professionals are still organizing themselves.
