Love x Work
Being attracted to someone at work is natural, dating a co-worker can happen, since you do spend 40 hours or more a week working in a company under BPO Philippines.
The understanding that comes from common work backgrounds can build and deepen friendships into relationships.
Having a beloved working in the same company may even lead to productivity and better performance because you're motivated to even work late, particularly if you can work alongside your partner or work while waiting until when her/his shift ends.
These are the pros when dating someone in the office, but here are the cons:
• Hurt your chances at a promotion or raise, along with your credibility, especially when you're dating your boss. No matter how you may have worked hard to earn it, any positive gain you may get at work would be gossiped as special treatment.
• When the romance is gone, you still have to see and work with that person daily. It'll be difficult, especially when the breakup is painful. This can affect your performance.
• Even when the relationship seems to be going well, there's a chance that you'll get tired meeting and working with your beloved. There's a possibility that all you do together is WORK, without time or energy to have FUN.
Whether you should or should not have a relationship with a co-worker, this depends on your character and circumstances.
When you do decide to take chance, make sure...
You Can Take the Consequences. With any relationship, there's the good and the bad. When the relationship turns sour, are you prepared to handle the consequences of seeing and having to work with the person? What would you do, if that time comes? Would you be mature and professional to keep the personal out the job at hand? If not, would you request reassignment? Would you resign?
Your Partner doesn't Kiss and Tell. Is the one you're attracted to a tactful person? Or is he/she a gossip? Is the person you're having a relationship the type who likes to share personal stuff with others?
The Person is Worth the Risk. Dating an assistant or aide is risky. Your courtship/relationship could be misunderstood as an abuse of authority or position. You could get hit with sexual harassment civil suit, even if the relationship was mutual.
It's more than just WORK. Make sure before making the BIG STEP into having the relationship that you and the person share more things in common rather than typical physical attraction, working the same job or being in the same company. Do you share the same humor, hobbies, interests, personal backgrounds and values in life?
What's important for any positive relationship is that bond and times shared isn't stressful, is a constant source for reassurance, inspiration and joy. Romance is supposed to be FUN.
Hopefully, when all of these things considered, you will not only find career opportunities but also chances to enrich your life socially and personally in BPO Philippines.
