Time Wasters, Watch out!

At the end of your shift, are you tired from overwork and stress?  You might be surprised to find out that it isn't your job that's draining you.

More likely, you're doing activities that are wasting both your time and energy, making you delay your work, pressure your performance and hinder you from accomplishing anything to your satisfaction.

Find out more about the negative work habits you may have and how to get rid of them, so that you have energy and time to enjoy the fruits of your labors in BPO Philippines.

Don't waste your Time!

Being TARDY to work, meetings and doing your tasks

If you are often behind schedule with your assignments or you tend to leave things until the last minute, you have an issue of tardiness or procrastination.

If you're not aware, you should be because this has an impact not only your job but also of your co-workers and bosses. If this is not corrected, you'll appear unreliable and incompetent.

To overcome this, use your daily and weekly calendar well by schedule your deadlines and appointments with some advance prep time and set up computer or Smartphone alerts just t o keep you on your toes.

One simpler way is to set your time in your wristwatch, cell phones and computers several minutes in advance to help you be on time.

Starting Work with no Plan!

Without a plan, it's easy to become distracted by small tasks and co-workers who bump you for help. These prevent you from accomplishing your job's responsibilities.

When you spend the day working on minor assignments, you won't have the mental and physical resources left to handle your most important duties.

First thing in the morning, or better yet the last thing you do the night before, prioritize and note down in a to-do-list two or three important tasks you need to complete that particular day. Do this on a daily basis.

Talking Office gossip and politics.

Do you spend most of your day chatting with your colleagues on workplace gossip? Wasting too much time in such an activity can ruin your credibility.
In all cases, you are being unproductive.

Instead of trying to find out who said what to whom and when, better divert that energy to work. The more you concentrate on work, the less time you'll have for petty gossip.

Not taking a Break.

Skipping lunch and breaks only to work  may seem like you can get ahead on your day's tasks and assignments, not to mention show you as a determined, dedicated professional to your job,  but you're actually doing more harm than good to yourself when you skip a break.

For one, sitting all day is linked to a lot of health concerns, like a greater risk of heart disease.  Step away from your workstation and going for a short walk in and out of the office can revitalize you, allowing you to view your work with a fresh perspective.

Intimidating tasks that made you anxious earlier can appear more doable after taking a break and eating a good meal.

And eating at your desk and at the same time working may not be a good option. You can't deliver the best results with eating a sandwich in one hand and talking on your in the other. You'll be more productive once you finish your meal and fully devote your attention to work.

Keeping a Negative Attitude about Work.

A negative attitude about your job can actually decrease the quality of the work you produce and can cause you to see everything as too difficult, even when it's not.

A bad attitude can only make things seem worse, and make your performance of your job suffer.

Don't waste time complaining about the things in your job you can't change, focus on what you can improve, and try to see everything with optimism.

Seek out positive inspirations, like happy coworkers, motivational images or taking a break to laugh at a funny video or listen to upbeat music.

The more cheerful your attitude, the more people, like your superiors and officemates, will take notice of you and seeing how you are happy with your job not only boost office morale but is the quality companies look for in employees to be promoted as leaders and supervisors.

When you're happy at work and perform well for the company's, most likely you'll be able to influence/lead others to do the same, producing a positive work environment that produces success, especially in BPO Philippines!
