These personal or social traits can be the deciding factor between which several job applicants presenting the same work experience and skills will be hired for the job. It's the hard, technical, competent skills that get you in the door, but it's the soft skills; your attitude, your personality that often get you the job.
If you possess positive social skills like leadership, flexibility among others, this gives you an advantage over others who avoid responsibility or are rigid, difficult to interact with/to train.

Leadership/Team Building: Employers are looking for people who can harmoniously work well with others, lead or work under a leader, towards productive, positive results. If you're good at collaboration, in giving instruction and training to others, to meet the objective, you'll be a good fit for the benefit of the company.
Excellent Communication: Being able to give clear, understandable instructions and descriptions whether verbally or written through a memo or email, and able and help meetings run smoothly -- or, at least, not sabotage meetings -- will probably be needed.
Multitasking/ Flexibility: Managers feel it's an asset when a candidate is competent and capable to take on any task, especially when there's an unexpected vacancy or need.
Friendliness/Congeniality: Being able to ease the tension during a stressful time at work by being light-hearted or having a good sense of humor is not a stated job requirement but it is well-received and much appreciated social skill.
