Never underestimate the importance of good moral character.
In any company or industry in BPO Philippines, people get hired based on their resumes and how they did well on their interviews, and keep their jobs and salaries on how they perform their jobs and achieve objectives but people get promoted simply on their personalities.
Employees who are unenthusiastic, insecure or selfish don't get to climb high on the company's hierarchy or chain of command.
People with qualities of good character; like humility, confidence and positivity, are often the ones selected to be looked after, developed and promoted by the company.
Good character can't be learned, but these can be cultivated from within. Practice these virtues for your coworkers and company, and in turn benefit from these virtues.
Humility. Being humble is knowing your own talents and limits and recognizing the talents of others. When there's a task you know you can't handle; because either you're too busy or you lack the required skills but know there are coworkers who can do the tasks better, recommend them. Advocate others, for the benefit of the company.
Being humble is also caring for other's welfare as much as your own. Connect colleagues to those who might advance their careers. Acknowledge and applaud your coworkers' successes as much as your own.
These actions when done consistently and in good faith produce favor. In turn your coworkers will recommend you because you are humble enough to recognize the talents of others—you too can be recognized and remembered.
Confidence. If you are confident with the company's management and its mission, if you trust yourself and your career path, you can have the courage to take chances in overcoming certain challenges.
Risk is to be expected in any venture but those who courageously face and manages the risk to pull in reward, rather than just wait and sit out because of fear or failure, often end up to be the successful ones.
By having confidence in your job and your company, you are personally motivated to make initiative and show enthusiasm in your work, which is a contagious quality that higher-ups look for in potential managers and supervisors.
Positivity. People who are consistently cheerful at work are viewed in a bright light by colleagues and bosses. They can get better reviews and are considered more competent.
Positive, friendly people promote harmony in the workplace which can lead to less stress, better teamwork and better performance from the employees. Being able to unite people is another quality that bosses look for potential leaders selected for promotion in BPO Philippines.
Character is a diamond that scratches every other stone.
