Good things come to Good People
Never underestimate the importance of good moral character.
In any company or industry in BPO Philippines, people get hired based on their resumes and how they did well on their interviews, and keep their jobs and salaries on how they perform their jobs and achieve objectives but people get promoted simply on their personalities.
Employees who are unenthusiastic, insecure or selfish don't get to climb high on the company's hierarchy or chain of command.
People with qualities of good character; like humility, confidence and positivity, are often the ones selected to be looked after, developed and promoted by the company.

Filipino students, Find your Future here in BPO Philippines
"A few years ago, nursing was the hot course. But the job market for that has dried up. Now, people are getting more interested in HRM (hotel and restaurant management) courses. But what we need to impress on young people is that IT is where the jobs are."
George Son Keng Po, 12/1/2011
George Son Keng Po, chief of the Accenture Philippines' Delivery Center Network for Technology, emphasizes the need for young people in the country to take up more technical courses such as engineering and information technology.
If BPO Philippines want to compete in an Internet-driven world, the government needs to do its part in encouraging colleges and universities to produce these technical-savvy graduates to meet the demand of quality personnel and help them earn high-paying jobs.
The Philippine education system must be updated and start to encourage students to pursue such courses that will turn them into future engineers and technology professionals that multinational companies like Accenture can hire
Frequent seminars can be conducted by students and their parents to convince them to pursue careers in the field of IT. The business process outsurcing industry needs this steady supply of technical talent as voice services will not be enough for next decade.
The Philippines dominance in call center services is clear, but the country can become a major center for both voice and non-voice outsourcing services, not just in regionally in the Asia-Pacific, but globally.
BPO Philippines has this leadership position in the global industry of outsourcing it has to be maintained. Now is not the time to be content.

What do 'They' mean when they say, Looking For…?
By "THEY", I mean the employers and the human resources departments in every company in BPO Philippines who write out their job placement advertisements and have these published as classifieds on the newspapers and job boards/portals…
Do you sometimes wonder what do THEY mean when they're looking for applicants with 'pleasing personality', 'ability to work independently', 'can work on holidays'?
Knowing what the employers want in their potential employees can help you prepare to become their ideal candidate or give you an idea what sort of job you're applying for, the company that you're getting into just to make sure that this is the kind of employment you want for yourself…
